Ups & Downs – Lifting Through Hard Times

Moments of sadness, depression and low feeling are normal functions of the human condition and everyday life, just like Joy and Happiness. Depression or Sadness become more problematic when they linger, interfere with sleep, relationships and the ability to function and live fully.

Over three sessions, you will learn about depression’s manifestations on body and mind; and how body impacts mind and mind impacts body. During each session you’ll be offered tools to help you identify the components of your depression. We’ll begin with a special focus to instruct you on how to recognize (in you) the triggers that call up sadness and depression. You will learn to identify somatically, feeling through the areas of your body and how they interplay with your mood, mind and emotions. Finally, through a guided practice of invigorating asanas, energizing pranayamas and grounding meditation, you will gain useful tools for self-observation and mood-elevation that will help you get through and overcome lingering depression and bouts of the blues.
Each session will leave room for discussion and questions. Home work will be given at the end of each session to help you maintain a health promoting phisical and emotional routine at home.
